What does the Character Counter tool do?+
It counts the total number of characters in your text and breaks it down into categories: total characters, letters, numbers, spaces, uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and special characters.
What is the difference between Total and Letters?+
“Total” counts every single character you typed (including spaces, numbers, and special symbols). “Letters” only counts alphabetic characters (A–Z, a–z), ignoring everything else.
How does it count Uppercase and Lowercase letters?+
Uppercase counts capital letters (A, B, C…). Lowercase counts small letters (a, b, c…). It only looks at alphabetic characters and ignores numbers, spaces, and symbols.
Does this tool also count spaces and special characters?+
Yes — it separately shows: Spaces: number of space characters. Special: punctuation marks, symbols, emojis, etc. (anything that is not a letter or number)
Can this tool count text in Bengali or other languages?+
Yes — it counts every Unicode character. Bengali letters, Hindi, Arabic, Chinese characters, emojis, etc., are all counted as “Letters”. Only English-style uppercase/lowercase distinction works for Latin
